Well, I did it...Posted by Katherine Alexandra on August 29, 2004 at 07:20:36: ...left the henna on for seven hours. And no visible color results! The shine is excellent, but I'm a bit disappointed. All I had was a packet of Body Shop 'Extra Red' henna, several years old, I might add. I followed the package directions - it simply says to mix the powder with hot water, and apply to dry hair. This procedure used to work well for me, so having a non-event - especially after doing hairball/strand tests to make sure it wouldn't be hideous - is a letdown.I might as well have used a neutral henna. Do you think it happened because of the old henna, or is it me? Can chemical residue prevent color from 'taking' at all? Also, if I use up my remaining old packages, will that interfere with the effects of good henna, once I obtain it? Many thanks for your expertise, and I do hope I am not making a pest of myself on this board - I am just excited about using henna, and cannot imagine a better place to ask the necessary questions!
