What did I do wrong?

Okay just got done with my strand test..
I used the henna sample from this site...
Mixed it with lime juice...
Let it sit over night...
Mixed in alittle more lime juice because it got a little too thick
put it on the hair..put the hair in a baggy and let sit for 4 hours..
Rinsed in plain water no change at all...
Any suggestions from anyone....
