The box lists lawsonia inermis, acacia bark, chammoile, and hydrolized soy protien as the major ingredients. The rest of the possible ingredients is too long to post but all are plant based materials. I've been using this product for about 10 or more years, always with good results. At the age of 45 (arghhhh) my hair has faded to a mousy dull brown shade with about 20% gray. The color comes out as a rich auburn and the gray areas come out as a golden blondish-red. I do keep it at about collar/shoulder length as I find that style most appropriate for me and because my hair has always been thin, I get the most body at that length. I have total strangers come up to me and compliment my hair, often several times a day. That being said, I'm not at all against trying a new product if I can find one that gives me an even richer color and more body, so if anyone has suggestions I'd be happy to try them. Patti
