The water you add should be warm, but not too warm to : put on your hair. If you don't warm the bowl during dye release, it'll take longer. so it is ok if the lemon juice is initially cold when you add it to the henna then just sort of warm it up by sitting it in a bowl of hot tap water, could you put a heat pad around the bowl of henna and lemon juice instead? Just curious because that way you could let the dye release as long as you wanted without having to reheat the water. Thanks Valerie
