: Um ......... no .......... cocoa doesn't really dye.
:
: Walnut is a major brown dye. The dye molecule is juglone, similar to
: Lawsone (which is the henna dye molecule) My prof was telling me
about
: the walnut husk dyebath she made up for her wool. She let walnut
: husks sit in a tub of water for several days and simmered it down,
: then strained it. Now I don't know if that's going to work for hair
: ... and if you're allergic to walnut, for heaven's sake don't do it.
:
: Otherwise, indigo seems to cool henna's red down pretty quickly.

Well I eat walnuts all the time so I doubt I would be allergic
topically. So next henna I will try it. I would love to use the
indigo, but on all that horrid bleached section Im afraid of turning
green with the indigo, so I will try the powdered walnut hull and let
you know how it works, though I dont plan to henna now until
November. (I decided to do an every other month schedule for henna.)I
must say though , as my hair is growing out, the henna seems to have
really given it volume like nothing else. Does the cassia obovata
have as much thickening effect as the henna? This stuff is great!
Thanks Valerie
