Being a verra thrifty Scots lass, I dinna : want : : to : : : waste anything;) - but, if you good people say it's rubbish, I'll : : bin : : : it without a qualm. Thanks! : : : : First, darlin', just bite the bullet and buy fresh good stuff, it's : : soooo different and as I have been a hennaing for over 25 years the : : voice of experience should have some credence...however, I : : understand your thrift (after going through the single mom bit and : : ekeing by it's difficult for me to toss). A Solution: purchase the : : quality henna and mix a teeny bit of the old stuff in to assuage : : your concience and it will not likely muck up the result. I have : : been using Everyday Mehindi for hair, as I had a gift certificate : : from Amazon and as I said, it's just soooo good, mixes and applies : : well, good stain etc...but will buy from Catherine when this runs : : out...I just touched up my roots and all today (I'm going to a 4 : day : : music festival in the mountains...yay!) and admit I cut my mix with : : a teeny bit of Avigal Red henna I had around, just to stretch : : it...came out great, no orange, just deep complex red/auburn and so : : soft... : : As I write, I'm just waiting for my first package from Catherine, and : I think my conscience will let me pitch the old stuff! After all, I : also have some PPD-laced dyes sitting round here, and can cheerfully : ignore them now I know what they may have been doing to me. I can : economise in other areas! And I hope your music festival is : thoroughly joyful for you! Stop! In the name of Gardens! OK so I'm not Dianna Ross...but Ima bitt Scottish, through the weddin' vows ;) I mixed my stale henna into my gardening compost. When I used the composted mix, it was a lovely shade LOL but more importantly, it's organic, I have lovely strong Impatiens, Petunias and Geraniums. Natural is natural, eh?
