What kind of : a difference will it make to not use henna with or before using : indigo compared to using indigo AFTER having hennad you : hair? Henna is helpful in 2 ways. 1) indigo by itself gives a nasty blue-gray color by itself (at least on my hair). Indigo over henna gives vibrant browns and blacks, depends on the mix. 2) Henna conditions your hair wonderfully. Indigo doesn't. If you use henna first, then indigo, you get gorgeous black, shiny and sleek.
