Semi-permanent dye

So....I currently use a permanent dye which I know I won't be able
to just go henna right away. Does semi-permanent dye have the same
reaction with henna?

Because I'm thinking about switching to semi-permanent for awhile
until I'm ready for the transition. I'm going gray and have been
dyeing my hair for awhile and don't want people to see me with a
head of gray that I've been hiding forever!!! Does anyone have
experience with semi-permanent to henna??
