I just recently found this forum and have a few questions.: I've been using henna for about 20 years now and have always had : good results from Hennalucent (only the sunset glo color which lists : henna as the main ingredient). I really do get tons of compliments : on my hair, many from complete strangers. : : What I have noticed though, is that as I've gotten older (45 this : month) the color seems to fade much faster than it used to (3-4 : weeks instead of 6 or more), not considering roots. It doesn't seem : to condition quite as long as it used to either. Now I know I'm : getting quite a bit of gray (not sure exactly how much since I : haven't really seen it in years) probably 20-30%. I'm sure that : contributes to the fading as well. : : What I'd like to know is would art quality henna give me the same : color, which is a rich medium auburn with copper highlights (that's : the gray), and would it last any longer? : : The recent popularity of henna as body art (can't walk 100 feet at : the beach without seeing a henna tattoo shop), and the internet : (which wasn't around when I started using henna) have created a lot : of options that weren't available to me before. I'd like to try art : grade henna but I'm a bit wary as I do really love the color I : have. I'd just like it to last a little longer. : : Any suggestions? : : Thanks : : Patti (currently sitting with green goo and a plastic bag on my head) I used to use the sunsetglo hennalucent, or whatever I could get, for years and just discovered the real deal. It will give you the color, even richer and deeper. I'm 52, just went to a music festival this last weekend, and had more than a few compliments from total strangers!
