itchy head while henna-ing

Henna is drying hence the itchy scalp. I use henna regularly evry
friday. What I suggest is to massage scalp not hair with warm coconut
oil beffore applying henna. This is how i solved the itch
: When it is drying I get itchy until I can't stand it anymore and
: rinse it out - about 2 hours. When I rinse my skin is NOT red or
: irratated and the itching stops when it is rinsed off.
