I like mine as clean as I can get it, so I use the crazy industrial
strength shampoo a few hours before without conditioner or any of
that, let my hair dry, and then henna. It doesn't seem to make a
HUGE difference if you have slightly dirty hair or not, but I've
found my hair likes the henna best if it's very clean.
