pectin problemsPosted by melrose on September 17, 2004 at 19:16:25: I tried to make Fias Gel mix last night...however when I added thepectin to the boiling water and lemon juice it immediately formed weird brownish small meatball looking things (not tiny pectin lumps...I'm talking the size of small meatballs) Any idea what this was/why/and how to prevent? Also when making the gel mix why do you only have to wait a half hour for die release...and with regular mixes you need to wait longer? Thanks!
