The first time I hennaed my gray turned brassy orange too. You say
you don't want it darker, but it won't be so brassy and it will get
more red. After getting better quality henna and doing my hair
again, I have wonderful reddish highlights in my hair. I hope you
won't have to cut your hair too short.
