Yes, I went through that my first two dyes (first dye I added black walnut and coffee.
2nd dye I added beetroot hoping for a redder red ...
3rd dye I added a little indigo. I think the indigo and the successive treatments are
what darkened it. After the first I actually bought some ugly orangish lipstick to not
clash so bad with my hair ... but now am back to my real makeup :LOL -- but for
awhile I really looked pasty and pale with orange hair. Now I look like me again with
dark auburn hair.

I would suggest getting some indigo and maybe mixing 25% indigo and 75% henna if
you don't want it a lot *darker* just a more auburn/mahagony tone, less orange ...

you can re-do it as soon as you like, but I would say your re-doing time will be better
spent with the addition of indigo ...
