My indigo is not releasing color...

I mixed together a bit of indigo and hot water and let it sit for
about 15 min, saw some blue happening. I wanted to mix in pectin, so
I added that (pectin + water + vinegar) and some more powder because
it got too thin. Now it's been nearly an hour of sitting in warm
water and the blue deal isn't happening.

Should I go ahead and use it? Wait some more? It's just a very, very
dark green...
