Hi all!

I am the one with the Bigen (PPD) dyed black hair, and natural
blonde roots coming trough. Well after the hairbrush test I dyed my
hair with pure henna and lemon juice! It was a cool experience, but
my roots got totally orange (shiny, but not the effect I was going
for). One week later I found a really great mix at a health food
store (De Tuinen in the Netherlands) it's called Henna Plus colour
powder, and comes in a range of reds. I got the auburn, the
ingredients are:
Lawsonia Inermis (Henna)
Indigofera Argentia (Indigo, right?)
Phyllantus Emblica (what is this?)
Tartaric Acid (I guess replaces the lemon juice)

I had to mix it with very hot water, apply directly and wait for 25
minutes! The results are so good! A deep rich auburn colour on my
roots. The black remains black though, but I wouldn't have expected
it to colour, I used Bigen for years, and I heard Bigen coats the
hairshaft in layers, so my guess is the henna can't get through that.

And now for my question: Does anyone know what Phyllantus Emblica is?
and could I mix this at home myself?

thanks!
