Wanda Sellar said don't use it in the first trimester as it's an
emmenagogue. Valerie Ann Worwood has it listed under her pregnancy
blends. Both are leading authorities. According to my
aromatherapist, professional opinion is divided on the subject, some
saying it's fine (and it's a gentle oil, after all), and others saying
don't use it until the 12th or 16th week. I therefore played safe and
recommended avoiding it until the 16th week. There are other nice
oils she can use meanwhile, after all, and the other thing my
aromatherapist said is that data is tricky because most people don't
realise they're pregnant for the first few weeks and so are using oils
anyway.
