What have you tried in later mixes? I haven't had the *orange* feel since I started adding the indigo. I also don't notice significant oxidation, the times I was orange I stayed orange :LOL : Anyway I am still toying with the possibility of adding indigo, : because I am still interested in a cooler colour. However I'm still : so hesitant to do it with everything I have read here. What have you read that made you hesitant? My *guess* is that you aren't going to get cooler reds with indigo alone, and my fiddling with *other* additives (beet root, coffee, black walnut, all to "push" the red to another color) seemed not to help much at all. I think it was the indigo, really. : Do you find the indigo fading quickly? No ... but maybe a little. I did mine last Saturday and inside it looked quite brown- black (ash brown) for a few days. Today it looked more dark auburn than ash brown ... so it might have faded some, but has kept its cool tones. : You do a one step process, right? Do you mix it all up in one : go, or do the dye release with each separately and then mix it together? I do a one-step process. I mix the henna with lemon juice the night before, giving it about 12 hours to the projected application time. In the morning when I see the dye starting to release from the henna I mix the indigo, this time I used really hot water, just a few minutes after boiling it, for the indigo, and in 20 minutes I saw a LOT of dye release, I was worried maybe it was TOO much, but it seems to have worked fine. : Where do you get your indigo, from Catherine? This time my indigo was from Catherine. I have also ordered from www.everydayhenna.com because she sells other things (beetroot, EO's) that I wanted/needed. : And most importantly, do you find any green cast in : spots? I am really afraid of getting green where my blonder hairs : where, not to mention the greys -- although I have a good amount of : henna already in the hair. No, In fact if anything it is my darker hairs that have picked up the indigo more, and the gray (and I have substantial gray at the roots) is more coppery, but does not come across as orange as the first few times. I actually took pictures of the roots (albeit not great pictures) that I can try to post. (I sent them to Catherine hoping she can use them, but I'm not sure if she can ... I haven't heard back from her, but I know she's very busy!) I will post them in a separate thread to you, one pic at a time, so as not to hijack this one too much LOL. : I KNOW you have discussed all this before, but if you wouldn't mind a : short recap I would really appreciate it (I have read your mixes page : lots of times, but maybe your experience is updated since then?) I've done the henna/indigo mix once or twice since the mixes. I did send Catherine an updated picture and mix info this time, but again, don't know if she got it or would like to use it. : thanks a million Kim! (BTW, remember I'd told you the back of your : head looked exactly like it could have been me?! I've since very much : against my will cut off about 2-3". The hair loss from after the baby : had made it so skimpy and thin and then the regrowth was starting to : show and it looked bizarre, so twins no more!) Oh, sad to lose my twin! :) I'm trying *hard* to grow mine out but also am fighting the skimpy thin stuff after losing a LOT after my last baby was born ... I am expecting again and HOPING that this time I'll grow a LOT of hair, LOL, but so far I'm still losing only a little slower than right when post-partum shedding started and "baby" is 18 months old LOL. oh well, maybe I'll have long skimpy hair. :) Kim
