acidic substances used with henna

I wonder if different hennas like different types of acidic
substances to get better dye release? Like, some hennas might like
lemonjuice others might like vinegar better? Also, some might need
more acid than others to produce dye release? There might already
be a thread in the archives about this somewhere.
