Can I perm?

Hello all, I have now joined the ranks of henna/indigo-obsessed and
will never, ever go back to chemical dyes again, even if they ARE
buy-one-get-one-free at the drugstore :-) I hennaed and indigoed my
hair about 3 weeks ago and so far am very happy with the results.

Question: I'm growing my hair out from a very short crop and want to
perm it to make it a litte less of an eyesore during this transitional
period. Is it safe?
