I *did* try walnut, which someone else suggested ... for me it did not brown now the
henna, and I ended up with very carroty bright hair. This is even with starting with
mostly dark brown but some faded (from chemical dyes) and some gray.

So my personal experience is that walnut did not give me brown, but adding indigo
has made it much closer to what I wanted. I would say mine is a dark brown inside,
but still a deep auburn in the sun.
