Youcould also do a henna gloss which would impart a red tone, but not as strong as straight henna (see Fia's mixes). What I did today to get a lovely brown color on my friends hair (she is a natural red head, but more softer red) was a double process. The henna (left on for 2 hrs) was HOLY red... I mean, you should see the pics I took... great color... just :-O Then I did indigo on top of that and she left it on for about 45 minutes. Very nice brown color... a teensy bit ashy looking (I think from the blue of the indigo) but I think it will tone down to a nice brown with red highlights. She's going to e-mail me a dry pic and as soon as she does I'll send them off to Catherine for the mixes page. I've also used a mix of henna (50%), walnut (25%) and indigo (25%) for my moms hair (see SueB in the mixes section). Next time I do her hair (that's my mom), I'll skip the walnut and do 50/50 henna/indigo. Good luck! ~ danielle
