I left it on for 2 hours, and when I washed it : off in the shower, I found that rather a lot of my hair came out : too. :-( Today it looks okay--I don't look bald--but I'm not very : happy. And I can see that I have receded slightly on one side, : though it's hidden by the way my hair falls... Normally I lose a few : hairs when I wash my hair, but this was a few big tangles. My hair : is very fine and flat so I NEED what I have! Reading this site I've : read that henna actually is good for treating hair loss. Can anybody : help explain what happened to me? : Thanks very much : Anna I agree with Linda, the first time I hennaed my hair (using body art quality henna) I also experienced what seemed to me to be a lot of falling hair. Having had a baby in the past year and a lot of fall out after that I was hypersensitive to the problem and had got into the habit of assessing the amounts I was losing everyday in the shower! I realised the reason I had a lot of fall out with the henna was that I had left my paste too thick and used a "massaging" technique to get it down to the roots before I wrapped it up. The combination of the heavy mud and "tugging" at the hair when applying obviously loosened more hair than usual.Add to that the vigorous rinsing I used to remove it and of course I was really distraught. I have never had a problem again by keeping my paste looser; doing my hair wet; applying it in sections with my fingers and a colourists brush to avoid massaging the hair around; and rinsing by first submerging in a bath to get the bulk of it out before showering. I don't know what technique you used to apply Lush but I'd look at your technique more so than the henna as there is no reason for the henna itself to cause hair fall out.
