IŽd wait for at least three months after a chemical treatment before using henna, then you should try some small and hidden section of hair. I did not have any problems covering the highlights, but they fade out a lot faster than darker hair(I started with red henna, after washing three times my tips were dark copper instead of reddish brown). Try 1/3 red henna(dyes deeper than the black), 1/3 black henna and 1/3 indigo, mix with strong (and hot!) black tea, 2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice, wich should turn your hair into very dark red/brown (rouge noir). YouŽll have to redo the treatment every 3-4 weeks until the color stays( takes about 3 months), using more black henna and indigo if you want to go darker . Make sure not to use hair styling products, chemical hair masks or other because it damages the henna layer around your hair and makes the platinum color shine through again. Remember that every hair is different and nobody can tell you for sure what color comes out and whether or not it makes your hair thicker and stronger, but it definitely improves shine.
