I always check for dye releasebecause you never know how long it will take for the dye release to occur. For me I will often wait 24 hours for dye release. Rarely has it taken less then 12 hours. I prefer the plastic bag method. Just add all of your ingredients into a plastic (Ziploc) bag and knead it together to make henna paste. Then place a sheet of white facial tissue into an airtight container. Place the bag of henna paste on top of the tissue and close the container. Then every few hours lift up the bag and check the sheet of tissue. If it is stained orange then it is starting to release the dye.
