Henna conversionsPosted by Debra on October 22, 2004 at 04:35:46: Why is everyone so keen on converting people to henna? Unless it issomeone you love getting poisoned by PPD, isn't it better keeping it a secret for the informed. I'd prefer not seeing a trend of shiney, healthy henna red heads everywhere I go. I doubt there is much money to be made commercially, since pureness and freshness are what makes it work so well. As soon as it hits the warm store shelf it will go stale. Simple mixes, etc? Seems the time involved of planning ahead and hours on your hair are the biggest problems- mixing is a breeze. If most people picked up a box of hair dye and it said to mix 12-24 hours before applying and leave on for 2-8 hours, they'd put it down fast. Henna is special for those of us that care to do the very best for our hair and don't mind the red.
