I've only henna'd my hair once with : Rainbow brand henna and have been researching real henna and am ready : to try it again. I've read about the adding of the lemon juice. I : make an apple cider infusion that I use in my hair as a rinse after : shampooing. Can I substitute this in place of the lemon juice? It's : an infusion of apple cider vinegar, rosemary, sage, comfrey, nettle, : yarrow, cloves, and essential oils. I was thinking of adding 3 tbs. : of this to the henna mixture. Any thoughts on this idea? Will it hurt : anything? Thanks!!! Hi there...I am NOT an expert, but I do not think it would hurt. For some reason, my scalp gets a little itchy with too much vinegar, so I dilute mine as a rinse, but the lemon juice does not itch. I am going to switch away from Rainbow henna myself. I did it Monday, kept it on 3 hours, and it has already faded drastically. Plus, I now know there are better hennas out there. I learned all that from this great site!
