Update!Posted by Betsey on October 27, 2004 at 19:16:25: Hello all! I'm not sure if anyone from here recognizes my name fromJune, but I thought I'd drop in and give a little progress update. You may recall after I hennaed my hair was this fiery bright orange red. Over the months I've hennaed quite a few times and am pleased to say the color deepened quite a bit, with orangey highlights. It's wonderful. I get great conditioning and volume right after a henna. I've also been using pectin in my recipe lately. I must say that I think I'm doing something wrong because my end mixture doesn't seem anything like the description on this site of the pectin mixes. It's not like a gel at all, nor is it brown in color. If I am making some error my hair doesn't know it; I still get beautiful color out of the henna, the pectin mixture just stretches the powder so much further. I can do my entire head with less than 100 grams now, and my hair reaches the crook of my arm. (Of course, my hair is quite fine and I don't really engulf every strand of hair with the henna, I mostly focus on the roots.) After I henna my hair is very fiery and bright with noticeable orange highlights, then as the weeks pass it slowly fades into the brassy red I sport until regrowth is to a point where I do it again! I even like how it makes my hair smell. I love henna! Wheee! Thanks everyone who helped me in my first weeks and during the testing phase. I get so many compliments every day about my hair. It's all on you! -Betsey
