*sigh* Another crap henna out there...Posted by Alison on February 21, 2004 at 20:29:48: When I henna my hair (as I am right this moment) I use disposableplastic shower caps to cover it, mostly because I just end up in a mess if I try to make my own plastic wrap turbans. I get 30 for 2.50 at the local Sally's beauty supply, so it's not a bad deal at all. Anyway, so I had to go buy those today so I could do my hair tonight. And, browsing the store, I came upon a box of Hennalucent hair colour. It claims on the front that it is safe to use over chemically treated hair (first warning sign!) and the store only had a few shades to chose from, all of which were brown, or the hated neutral (second warning sign!). No red at all. So, curious, I've done some searching on the product, and this is the most informative I've come up with: http://www.folica.com/haircolor/henn_colcon.htm. Down the page it lists ingredients. While henna is first on the list, and sucruse (sugar, which we all know helps) is 3rd, there are a lot of chemical names that sort of defy the 100% organic claim the box makes. However, in their favour, if you click the 'enlarge image' button under the picture of the box, it brings up a seond, bigger pic of the box in (presumably) it's contents, which ARE green and do look like normal henna. But that's not enough to redeem them. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering it: my opinion is that it's NOT worth crap.
