My mom has normal thickness hair and gets good color from leaving henna on her hair for two hours. I on the other hand, have really thick hair and two hours only gives me shiny hair, but hardly adds any color. I'm not sure if the thickness has anything to do with it, but I know my hair absorbs henna better when I leave it on longer. I don't have time to leave it on for long hours during the day -that and I'm not patient enough to wait that long- so I just leave it on overnight and forget about it. --- do you HONESTLY not ruin the sheets? Not if you place one or two old towels between the saran wrap and your pillow. ---It seems like even with saran wrap etc bits of hair pop out when I am awake, and I can just imagine the mess sleeping on it. I wrap my head REALLY tight in saran wrap. Even tighter than what is shown in Catherine's picture in the "techniques" section. You can ask someone to help you pull the saran wrap roll while you hold on to it, that way it gets really close to your head. With a little practice you'll be able to do it by yourself. It ends up being as tight as a swimming cap so you don't have to worry about it shifting over night.
