First time user - scalp irritation

I just hennaed my hair this morning for the first time using a mix of
avigal henna, olive oil and water. I have a very mild burning
sensation on my scalp and the backs of my ears, where I didn't get
all the mix off right away. Is this uncommon and should I be
concerned about avoiding future use? I hope not because the color
turned out great. Thanks for your input.
