my little indigo testPosted by hannah on November 9, 2004 at 18:09:36: I posted a while back asking whether the henna with indigo deepenswith subsequent use. I had tried using a sample of Catherine's indigo on harvested hair which had been hennaed 3 weeks previously. I didn't like the color much...looked an unflattering shade of chocolate. I got another sample of Catherine's indigo and waited until I hennaed my hair to try it out. I hennaed as I always do, then when done, mixed up the indigo with a bit of water, waited till I saw the beginings of color change, (about 10 min), and instead of using harvested hair, I decided to have fun and indigo the ends of my hair. I tied my hair in a pony tail and worked the indigo into about 5 or 6 inches of the end, wrapped it in plastic wrap very tightly and left it on for 40 minutes or so. I love the color! I want to do all my hair with it, but the hubby likes my redder hair, and my son loves the two tone effect like I do. I definitely know that when using the two step process, it is best to use the indigo on freshly hennaed hair. Thanks Catherine for the samples, and your research. Thanks everyone else who gave me great tips on what to do and how.
