Please help. posted by Tiffany on November 9, 2004 at 01:48:17: : I can't really give any advice on this subject, but I just wantedto : let you know I am in the exact same boat as you. My hair has been : thinning over the past year or so (maybe more, hard to tell). I am : also vegetarian, I hope that has nothing to do with it. I continue : to use henna about every 4-6 weeks because I have also heard it would : either help or at least not make it worse. Have you tried Pantene : Pro-V "Full and Thick". I haven't tried it yet but I plan on it. : It's new and the commercial looks pretty good..hehe.. Let me know if : you find anything that works. I loose a lot of hair in the shower : too, and wash it every 2-3 days also. I havent actually counted but : I will next time. Hmmm.. Have you tried Rogaine for women. It's : supposed to be the only treatment really proven to work. I looked in : to it and the only downside is that you have to use it twice a day, : every day, FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!! The upside is that if you : stop using it, you will only lose the hair that you regrew from the : Rogaine, not any more. And you can still use Henna with the : Rogaine. I'm not that desperate yet, but I'm getting close.. Good : luck!! Actually I’ve been a vegeterian for many years and the major hair loss is more of a recent thing. I use to lose a few strands here and there but nothing in comparison to what I am dealing with now unfortunately. So I don't believe that is a problem. I used Pantene years go but I like to switch my shampoos. It's funny you mentioned Pantene becuase I was actually thinking of going back to it when I saw a girl with gorgeous long hair recently and she told me she uses Pantene. I have been using a jojoba shampoo and conditioner from Nature’s Gate. Figured the jojoba can’t hurt. I also do jojoba oil treatments once a week in addtion to the Hennaing once a month. My hair is in very good condition, just very sparse. I am so scared to wash my hair because that is when it falls out. I dread washing it now and resort to every 2-3 days. On a rare occasion I can go to 4 days but that’s my limit. My doctor said I can try Rogaine, but for myself I prefer the natural route so I probably wouldn’t do it. Also once you stop Rogaine your hair goes back to the way it was.
