Herbs as dye -please helpPosted by Nancy on November 16, 2004 at 12:03:01: Hi, I've been searching all over the internet for natural hair dyesand besides henna and indigo (which I have tried) I also found information about various herbs etc. Apparently you can simmer some sage in a pan and with the liquid you are left with you can use it as a hair dye. Now I say this because it all seems much easier than the time you have to spend using henna and indigo... ...so can I ask if anybody has tried using JUST sage or other herbs as hair dye, and what kind of results did you get? Some websites say that you have to run the herb solution over your hair 15+ times a day for a few weeks until you start to see a difference, so is this the case? How much of a difference was the color? Will it continue to get darker the more you use it? What was your starting hair color and what was the finished result? Does it darken hair a lot, say from blonde (mine) to brown (what I'd like)? Is their any other recipes anybody has which darkens hair, and not making blonde hair into dark-blonde, I mean blonde into brown, just light brown or even dark brown. Sorry to ask so many questions but there doesn't seem to be any answers that I can find on the internet and was hoping somebody here might have the answers. Thanks!
