Zarqua Indigo and Removing Henna from HairPosted by Ashley on November 19, 2004 at 18:05:33: Hey, I am constantly changing my hair, but thankfully chemical dyesdon't play a part anymore. I hennaed my hair like a week and a half ago, and I adored the color, but I was just wondering if there's a certain way to actually draw the henna out of the hair, cause I feel like going back to blonde for awhile. Also, has anyone tried Zarqua black henna, which is just ground indigo leaves? I bought a bunch of it online, and wanted to do the indigo over the henna for some black streaks, but the dye WON'T release. I have left it for more than an hour, and I've left it on my hair for more than 2 hours with barely any noticeable darkening. I bought 3 boxes from Mehndiskinart.com and I'm on the second one, and I got the same result, NOTHING, with the indigo from the second box. grrrr... For the indigo, all I do is mix it with very warm water and let it sit on a heat pad for 45 minutes. I've heard the dye is supposed to release after 20 minutes. I have yet to see it. Also, the directions on the box say to mix the indigo with henna + water and apply it after letting it sit for 8 hours for black hair. Any personal experience with Zarqua anyone? Thanks!;)
