Of course my hairs original color (which is soft black mixed with dark brown) would make the final result of the haircolor to be a bit different. : : Anyways... I wanted to know where I can get this "Woad" from? Or is it possible to use "Indigo" to get this chestnut shade depending on how much I use of it together with the henna? : : I read on this site that 500g is what would be needed for waistlength hair, but, since my hair is very fine in texture am wondering if 500g may be too much since I don't have alot of hair strands. : : Ok... I am wandering off in my questions... lol... so will stop for now. If anyone can answer my "Woad" and "Indigo" questions it would be appreciated as I am thinking of taking the henna plunge. : : Take care everyone :) I'm afraid you won't be able to get chesnut with henna and indigo or woad (both indigo and woad have the same blue dye to them and can be used pretty interchangeably, as I understand it) because your hair is so dark to start with. Henna cannot lighten hair at all. With black/dark brown hair, you can get a nice reddish-brown sheen in sunlight, but chesnut is pretty much out of the question. You can try to lighten your hair with lemon juice and sunlight, or do so chemically, if you are intent on chesnut. On the subject of ammount of powder, I agree that 500 is excessive. My previously waist/hip-length hair (which is also fine) took about half of that at most.
