Alternate henna recipe w/vinegar and conditioner

Take your henna powder and mix small amounts of vinegar with it until it hasa granular consistency as if you were cutting shortening into flour for piecrust.
Then add hot water and a small amount of conditioner.
My hair comes out fiery red and it's not as rough as if I don't put conditioner in.
May make a difference that I bleach my hair JUST A BIT before applying
henna so it needs all the help it can get.
However the lightening causes the henna to be pretty much permanent
whereas it eventually fades from non-bleached areas.
