chemical nightmarePosted by pen on December 9, 2004 at 14:45:25: i'm a new convert to henna but i haven't officially tried it yet.although this site is extremely informative, i'm feeling overwhelmed. i have EXTREMELY processed hair. (bleach on top of dye on top of bleach...) i really want to go to henna for natural coloring and conditioning, but have experienced some trouble in my tests. light mountain med brown mix (i used before discovering this site) turned my test green on the blonde parts. then i bought pure body art quality henna, and it turned my highlights BRIGHT orange. i've been reading the site, and have come to the conclusion that walnut powder might be the way to go, with red wine as the acidic liquid along with black tea... any advice on measurements or words of caution before i begin again? does it matter that the top part of my hair is bleach blonde, the next layer under is an auburn brown, and bottom most layer is dyed black? also with greys coming in? the colors are cool, but my hair is really begining to show the damage... notice the all-too appropriate subject: chemical nightmare!!!!!!!
