: I bought a Herbatint when I was trying to go a safer chemical dye
: only to find out from their ingredient list they have all the same
: dangerous chemicals the other chemical stuff does (except maybe no
: ammonia). That's why I've made the decision to go henna finally.
: The Herbatint still has that dangerous PPD in it. As far as I can
: see there's nothing natural about it.
:
: : I used henna for 10 years then I decided I would try a chemical
: dye. It just isn't the
: : same as henna. I would like to go back to using henna but I am
: scared my hair will be
: : fried.A friend told me about a natural hair dye called herbatint
: that is supposedly safe
: : for chemically treated hair. I could not find any objective info
on
: this product. Is it
: : henna? does it have metalics that will react will chemical dye?
: : any info would be great thanks.

I'd add to the above that you also want to avoid anything calling
itself 'henna cream.' Unless it is 100% henna, and nothing else, it
is not henna.
As to fried hair ... mine certainly was, and, once I discovered this
site, I got impatient and hennaed anyway. No problems. But test
first, on harvested hair from your brush or on a strand. Body art
quality really does make all the difference, too: it is not just a
lot of cant from the converted! Good luck!
