A henna question...Posted by Kat on February 29, 2004 at 21:13:46: About three years ago, I bought a couple boxes of Light Mountain Henna(the "Color the Gray" kind since that was all they had) at Whole Foods with the intention to henna my hair. My resolve failed, but I was looking over the box recently and noticed something I'd forgotten since I bought it. In the box are TWO bags of powder. The first is the "conditioning" step, the second is the "coloring" step. The first is olive green and just looks like old henna powder. The other, the coloring step, doesn't look much like henna to me, unless it's henna with green dye in it--it's sort of a light almost sea green color. Yummy. But, that is not the part I'm asking about anyway. Anyway, my question was whether anyone has used the Light Mountain before, because I was thinking the "conditioning" step looks like it might either be "neutral henna" or old henna that wouldn't stain any more, and I figured I could at least use that to condition my hair even if I don't want color. Has anyone used this kind before, or knows what the "step one" stuff is? I'm going to try to do a strand test, but the last time I tried to do one I didn't get much in the way of results so I'd hate to think this wouldn't color my hair and then use it and come out flaming red, so I figured I'd ask. :)
