Lawson - Henna. Dangerous for the genetic material?

I live in Germany and I have read in an eco-magazine that the
colouring substance Lawson is toxic for the kidneys and blood. Lawson
is also suspected to change the genetic material. Although Lawson is
present in Henna, it is only the Lawson created in the laboratories
which gave this results. Some new studies are running in Europe
testing Henna and Lawson. At present, it has been recommended to
forbid Lawson as hair colouring product and authorise Henna until new
results are published.
