I agree with pretty much everything Debra said, but thought I'd
confirm because I'm a dark blonde just like you, with light blonde
highlights naturally. I do convince myself though that red wine and
cloves push the colour a little bit redder and less orange, but
frankly I can't be sure because I started using wine and cloves
later, so the only real thing that went on then may have been the
henna colour building up itself, - if that makes sense. And I also
add a little bit of indigo sometimes which definately affects the
colour.

If you want to try the wine anyway and want to get rid of the
alcohol, you can just heat it and let the alcohol evaporate (>70C).
And then let it cool a bit before you add it to the henna, of course.

If you can think of it as an ungoing process and if you will not be
freaked out by initial orange (and it probably *will* be very orange
after only one hour first application, even with heat!), then nothing
can go wrong. Have fun! Let us know how it turns out.
