I didn't get burgundy with indigo ...Posted by Kim in MI on December 17, 2004 at 01:29:39: In reply to: Re: henna mix with grape juice or wine? posted by prairie child on December 13, 2004 at 16:01:56: Maybe a dark cherry, in the sun, but when I did 50/50 indigo and henna it was more adark auburn ~ dark ash brown inside. It did give me a "cooler" red, rather than orangey, which is what I wanted. I didn't see any difference, really, the time I used walnut compared to other early attempts. But I was hoping for a cherry/burgundy and never really did get that. I would say keep the indigo in the mix to tone down the orange, if you don't want flaming orange coppery carroty possibilities, but do some strand test. I mix the henna the night before and the indigo the morning of, and mix them just before applying. Kim : ... : so I may turn orange or flaming red. Actually, the worst color for me : would be black cherry or burgundy. Oh well, I am thinking of this as : a long term commitment and think I'll eventually get the color I : want.
