Hi all, since my last post I've been off line for a few days.
Here's some answers to my post about Allspice and Henna making
burgundy/purple highlights. I tried the allspice by accident. I
was looking for something with better smell than regular mix I use.

My mix was 100g henna, about 2-3 tablespoons of freshly ground
allspice. Mix it all with lemon juice and let set overnight. One
batch I added 2 tablespoons paprika but I didn't notice a differnece
in color at all. Whole allspice looks like a smooth brown
peppercorn. I crushed mine in a morter and pestle.

The tint stayed but mellowed to a burgundy. Very lovely although it
wasn't my style.

I prefer auburn with copper highlights and so I usually use paprika
and tumeric.

Where to buy allspice. In the US, any grocery store but I lean
towards buying spices and herbs in bulk so check your local food co-
op or health food store. I actually found whole allspice at BigLots
for less than a $1 a bottle. You never know.
