Waiting to see the result!Posted by Nash on January 10, 2005 at 08:11:06: Great to have henna on the hair again!I started using it as ateenager but stopped after 12 years, as strands of premature grey became a problem.I didn't like at all the orange part that announced the presence of the very thing I wanted to hide! This website was a great help, found great henna, indigo from Catherine plus all the different ways to get shades one wants. Thanks Catherine and others on the forum. Enjoyed the mixing part too- reminiscent of the henna sessions with friends and female relatives in India. Yesterday I mixed 40gms henna in strong black brewed coffee, let it sit over night, mixed 25 gms amla powder with water. This morning prepared 40 gms indigo with warm water, waited for 20 minutes, saw the dye release (I presume it means when there is a thin film over it) and mixed the henna powder, with few crushed cloves, a few drops of lavender oil and the amla paste and blended with left-over coffee and finally mixed the indigo. Shall leave it on for over 5 hours. The result I am hoping for is a deep dark brown with henna's red touch(I have black hair) and am really really hoping the greys that are basically near the temples, crown and side get covered AND blended as well. I am turbanned and waiting now! Ciao, Nash in France. Hmmm... getting tempted to try it one day on my husband- his chestnut blond hair has some grey...
