Whatwould you say would be a safe bet for a minimum wait time? We're in central Edinburgh, any recommendations for where to find good henna? Or hospitals, it seems. The good news is that I made the flatmate a nice oil blend, Roman chamomile and musk rose in sweet almond oil, 1% dilution, and at least that's cleared up the dermatitis. My friends joke that I'm a witch since I have a fairly good amateur knowledge of aromatherapy, umpteen herbal teas in the cupboard, and so cider vinegar/herbal rinses, but my friend is a real witch! One of my friends has a complete fetish about my hair, he's always sniffing it and has been known to hold locks out to people for them to sniff. (He's gay.) He did this once at a party, I protested, and next thing I knew I was being mobbed by gay men all sniffing my hair. The photo turned out fantastic (about the one time in my life I look ok in a photo), and since at least half my hair was red at that point it generally looks red in the picture. I really have decided that red hair's not for me, although it was fun for a couple of years, but I miss the thickness and condition you get from henna. Is there anything you know that does the same trick, and doesn't involve putting thick mud on your hair for hours? I've got ME, so the weight of the henna and the time it took to wash it out were totally exhausting. Just reading your London diaries, they're so vivid. I'm a Londoner by birth, but came here to study and fell in love with the place. By the way, as an English Lit student and total bookworm, I blame various authors for getting me into henna. Angela Carter, Emma Donoghue, Jeannette Winterson, they all have a thing about redheads. And Carter gives explicit henna instructions in one of her short stories.
