I just recently locked my hair and want to get away from : chemicals. Would the henna be safefor my locks? I want to make sure : it won't make the locks slip out or not lock at all?! Thanks!! Hi Jenna, Check out the link below for one of my posts. My dreads are not new, but I don't think that henna will prevent your hair from developing locks. After I henna and indigo my hair, I twist the new growth while it is wet (after I rinse out the colouring, of course) and have had no problems keeping my locks neat and tidy. Check out the information on this site on dyeing hair black with henna and indigo, if you have not already. Also, check out the recent information on amla. I have been using Lush's caca noir henna (contains lots of indigo) and body art henna (I apply this first) and will be trying Catherine's indigo and amla in a couple of weeks. Hope this helps. http://www.hennaforhair.com/forum/messages/6547.html Raven
