Finally! Camp banter on H4H!Posted by Elettaria on January 18, 2005 at 17:58:35: In reply to: Re: OK, the story behind that photo posted by pen on January 18, 2005 at 14:34:57: Oh, I'm queer myself and have been hanging around in the queercommunity for years, hence knowing no straight men except the ones who teach me at uni. Another woman and I started being camp out of feminist reasons years ago, and it seems to have stuck. I'll probably end up doing a PhD in Camp and Gender Performativity in Early Modern [Renaissance] Drama, knowing me. I'm using the Ginseng Herbal shampoo and conditioner from the House of Mistry (below), but that's only useful if you're in the UK (and if you're outside north London, can be bothered to pay their rather high postage rates). It's a naturopathic pharmacy my family knows, I've been using their shampoo and conditioner since I was about 16, and when I moved up to uni I couldn't find anything as good, so I just order a boxful every few months. One is allegedly on its way now, in fact. I don't actually know the full ingredients, I must find out some time (as you can gather, I do trust the company), but I could fish out a bottle and list the active ones (which are at least listed) if you want. The herbal/vinegar rinses make quite a difference, too. As did henna, when I used it. Thanks for the flattery, that was when my hair had been sitting around a party all evening and hadn't seen a hairbrush in hours too!
