using hair wigs for experiments?

do you think using hair wigs / streaks* for experimenting with
henna/indigo/amla would work? (*only real, no artificial hair, of
course - there are lots of cheap and ugly ones available in my natural
colour ;)

i'd like to do some experimenting but my hair is too dark-red now to
really show any differences between different application
methods/powders/ingredients.
