Greys are golden-redPosted by Angela on January 23, 2005 at 13:31:03: In reply to: Re: Hallelujah! Finally Free of Feria! posted by Teena on January 23, 2005 at 12:56:06: Hi Teena!Oh yeah, I've got greys! About 10% silver, I guess. Now they look like shiney golden-red highlights, which I like. We'll see what happens next time I henna. I may just concentrate on the roots, to darken them up. As for the Blueberry Tea, I read where several had tried Red or Lemon Zinger, both of which contain lemon peel and hibiscus. Since I was trying to go for a more burgundy, purple-y red, I thought the blueberry might work. In addition to hibiscus, it contains blueberries and leaves, as well as blackberry leaves. Whenever I drink it, it makes a red tea that leans more toward purple. So I thought what the heck? I used the red wine, rather than vinegar or lemon juice, for the same reason. And the allspice because I had a big jar of it and no cloves! :) Who knows if it would have come out differently had I just used lemon juice? Since I've never done it before, I can't say. Perhaps the whole thing is merely psychological! But my hair DID smell quite luscious while it was "cooking." Almost like a well-marinated fruitcake! I kept squishing the air out of my shower cap, just to get a whiff. I can still smell it today, but it's very faint. Like you, I imagine it won't last long.
